       Firenze Fire rushed to a quick start, duel with Flagstaff for half a mile, and pulled apart within a distance, repeating in the Level 2 True North Stakes in Belmont Park. Firenze Fire, driven by Jose Ortiz, made a clean breakthrough from the first post and took a short lead in the opening stride. Flagstaff of Lane’s End quickly joined in, and American Power and Wicked Trick fell behind. .
       The two leaders set a fast early score, 22.71 in the first quarter and 45.39 in the half mile. When the Sevens turned to the home court, Firenze Fire led Flagstaff by one point and a half with 15.52 points, winning six and a half Furlongs. American Electric Power won third place and fourth place with Wicked Trick. Phat Man, Looking Bikinis and Big Engine completed the field.
       The Firenze Fire is owned by Mr. Amore Stable and trained by Kelly Breen. It is a 6-year-old horse bred in Florida, from My Every Wish (Langfuhr) by Poseidon’s Warrior (Speightstown). Firenze Fire’s previous victories include the Level 3 Runhappy Championship, the Level 2 Vosburgh Championship and the 2020 G2 True North, all held in Belmont Park.
       Jose Ortiz took the Firenze Fire mount from his brother Irad Ortiz, Jr., who was out for two weeks due to an injury on June 3 . After the game, he shared his brother’s views on the son of Poseidon Warriors: “He [Irad] said he was a very good horse, and he would play well. He told me he thought he was outside A better horse. But he grabbed the railing and he jumped very well. I didn’t want to take anything from him. I rode him like he was the best horse, he was the best horse.”
       ”He trained well. I think he is more stable now.” Brin told the NYRA press office. “I know him better than last year, maybe he started to understand me. It’s a good combination at the moment. The first quarter is: 22.3, it was in his cab. I said we should be fine, I told Ron [Lombardi, The owner of Mr. Amore Stable] said.        Firenze Fire became the favorite of equal currency, paying $ 4.10, $ 2.60 and $ 2.30. Flagstaff (4-1) paid US$3.70 and US$3.10. American Power (15-1) paid $3.80 for the show.
